Evaluation
OUTBRK is a multiplayer storm chasing simulator currently in Early Access, and development remains highly active. Since launching on June 28, 2024, the developer Sublime has shipped 8 major content updates, including the 0.3.0 weather graphical overhaul (July 1, 2025), the Car Tablet and Probe Receivers update (December 22, 2025), and the Weekly Challenges game mode (March 12, 2026). Major updates have arrived roughly every 2–4 months throughout Early Access, and this cadence has been sustained without interruption.
Beyond major releases, the team maintains a steady flow of feature patches and bug fixes. As of the most recent Developer Outlook post on July 31, 2026, multiple systems are actively in development: the Vegetation Update (currently in final debugging and polishing), a redesigned Chaser Network system (already running in a test environment), a major networking overhaul enabling features like passenger seat-swapping and reconnection, a new vehicle called The Warden, an updated character customization pipeline, new water rendering technology, and next-generation tornado visual effects. A new full-time programmer joined the team in June 2026 to help accelerate development toward 1.0.
The developer also explicitly references working toward OUTBRK 1.0, confirming the game is still progressing through Early Access with a full release as a stated goal. Communication has been consistent and detailed throughout 2025 and 2026, with no signs of slowdown.
