Evaluation
Outlast launched on September 4, 2013 as a complete first-person survival horror game. It received one paid DLC — Whistleblower — which released on May 6, 2014, adding a prequel story to the base game. A patch in April 2014 added achievements, a new difficulty mode, and DLC support. The game was later ported to Mac and Linux on March 31, 2015. In November 2015, Red Barrels announced Outlast 2 as a separate sequel title. There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future content for this game, and no developer communications suggesting additional content is planned. The last developer activity related to Outlast itself dates to the Mac/Linux port in March 2015. The game shipped as a complete product and has received all of its planned content.
