Paint Warfare

Paint Warfare is a free-to-play online arena shooter that launched on March 6, 2022 and has been continuously updated by its solo developer. The game has received major content updates shipping new maps, game modes (Point Capture, King of the Hill, Hunger Games overhaul), weapons, abilities, a mobile version, and social features across its lifetime. The developer opened the July 31, 2026 update post — which brought proximity voice chat, Steam friends list integration, daily leaderboards, and a reworked in-game economy — with the explicit statement "Paint Warfare is back in development!" and closed it with "Much more cool stuff coming soon :)". Two additional feature patches followed on August 5, 2026, adding a free daily loot box, shop rebalancing, expanded daily challenges, and a new supporter pack perk. The most recent developer communication was on August 5, 2026. The developer has at times been occupied with a separate project (CATACOMB), which has contributed to gaps between updates, but has consistently returned to Paint Warfare and has not signaled any intention to stop. With the developer having explicitly communicated that more content is on the way, the game is clearly continuing to receive substantial new content.
