Pirates Outlaws

Pirates Outlaws launched out of Early Access on April 13, 2020 and received a steady stream of post-launch content updates over the following years. Major free updates added Hard Mode (December 2020), a new chapter called Port Elysia (November 2021), a new character (First Mate) on the third anniversary in March 2022, and finally the Bounties mode, Bazaar island, and a reworked Tavern Brawl in October 2022 (V2.10). After that October 2022 update, developer communications dropped off sharply — the only notable post afterward was a bug-fix patch in December 2023 (V2.6) addressing specific crash and localization issues, which represents maintenance rather than new content. The most telling signal for the game's future came on April 2, 2025, when Fabled Game announced a playable demo for Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage — a full sequel. This strongly implies that the studio's creative energy has moved on to the next game rather than continuing to develop new content for the original. No new content has been announced or released for Pirates Outlaws since October 2022, and the sequel demo announcement confirms the studio's focus has shifted. The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which was released in December 2021. No unreleased DLC exists. The game appears to have been delivered as a complete package with its final major content update in October 2022, followed only by bug fixes, and the studio has since pivoted to a sequel.
