Evaluation
Plane Accident entered Steam Early Access on February 20, 2024 as an explicitly unfinished product, launching with a tutorial and five missions. The developer, White Pig Games, has posted updates since launch: a first update on March 14, 2024 added Spanish language support and bug fixes; a June 2024 update added German language support and a cross-promotion event; and a more substantial update on March 13, 2025 added Steam achievements, an unstuck feature, and further bug fixes. The March 2025 post acknowledged that 2024 was a difficult year for the studio but stated "the worst is behind us" and closed with a promise to bring "more updates soon." No 1.0 release date has been announced, and the developer has not indicated the game is feature-complete. The most recent developer communication was on March 13, 2025 — approximately 18 months before today's date. The update pattern spans three posts across roughly 13 months (March 2024, June 2024, March 2025), suggesting an interval of roughly 4–9 months between updates. At 18 months since the last post, the silence is beginning to stretch beyond that established window, but the developer explicitly signaled intent to continue with "more updates soon" in their last communication, and no statement of completion or abandonment has been made. The game remains in Early Access with ongoing development toward a full release, though the extended silence since March 2025 is worth noting.
