Pocket Waifu: Desktop Pet launched on August 13, 2024 and remains free to play and available to purchase. The developer keeps the game on a seasonal schedule of new activities, cosmetics, and shop rotations: a Valentine's update arrived on March 22, 2025, a Bunny (Easter) update on May 16, 2025, and an Anniversary update on September 5, 2025. Smaller seasonal patches followed on October 7, 2025 (Halloween), December 23, 2025 (Christmas cosmetics on a dated shop rotation), and February 10, 2026 (Valentine's Day). Items come from loot bags, scratch-off tickets, and rotating shop stock bought with in-game currency, and at least one cosmetic is sold for real money. The most recent major content update shown is dated September 5, 2025. On February 10, 2026 the developer said it was working hard on new stuff it could not yet show. On October 9, 2026 it said it is working on something big that is taking a long time to get right, with no release date given. A streaming return on October 10, 2026 will unlock two achievements tied to in-game streaming activities.
