POLYWAR launched on December 30, 2016 and received a handful of updates in early 2017 — bug fixes, new maps, and feature patches — followed by a June 2017 update where the developer mentioned working on new maps, weapons, and features. However, that promised content never materialized in any subsequent announcement. The final developer communication was on November 29, 2017, which added Steam Trading Cards — a lightweight cosmetic addition with no indication of further development plans. Since then, there has been no developer communication of any kind. The last meaningful content update was the trading cards post on November 29, 2017, and the developer has been completely silent since that date — nearly nine years ago as of June 2026. The June 2017 promise of new maps and weapons was never followed up on, but given how much time has passed with no communication whatsoever, it is clear that development has concluded. The game shipped as a lightweight multiplayer FPS and appears to have reached the end of its update lifecycle.
