Evaluation
Project Lounge has a complicated history. The game originally launched into Early Access on November 3, 2016 under its original developer, who posted regular updates through 2016 and into 2017. Development then went quiet, and a March 2017 post cited upcoming school exams as the reason for the slowdown. The game was eventually abandoned by the original developer.
On October 1, 2020, new owners (SA Industry) took over the game's Steam listing and added trading cards as a small gesture to remaining players. In that same post, they explicitly acknowledged that "the project was abandoned long time ago" and expressed hope that they could update the game in the future — but no substantive updates followed.
The game officially left Early Access and received a full 1.0 release on July 9, 2021. There have been no major content updates, feature patches, or developer communications since the new owners took over, and certainly none following the 1.0 release. The store description describes the game in its current state with no mention of planned content, roadmaps, or future additions.
With no announced content, no unreleased DLC, no post-launch update pattern, and no developer statements indicating future development plans, Project Lounge appears to have launched as a finished product in its current form. The game is complete as-is.
Evidence

About this game
Action takes place in player-made locations called Lounges which are made through the Lounge Editor by shaping terrain, setting time of day and placing various objects. The creator of the Lounge is able to set various permissions, privacy settings and invite others to visit. The owner and visitors are also able to populate the Lounge with various Interactable Objects that might just be a simple prop, an arcade machine. The only goal in Project Lounge is to have fun.
Features:
- Lounge Editor - It's just like your usual map editor, with no object caps, just the way we love it on PC. The only limit is your system specifications.
- Interactable Objects - Drawboards for drawing, Arcades to play, Vinyls to play and more! Earn them by playing the game and receiving drops, even while you're in the Lounge Editor!
- Steam Inventory - Collect, trade and sell your Interactable Objects through Steam Inventory and show off what you've got to your friends and visitors alike.
- Steam Workshop - Do you know how to make 3D models? Or perhaps you compose music? If so, you can contribute to Project Lounge at Steam Workshop!
