Evaluation

Pseudoregalia launched on July 28, 2023 as an extended edition of the developer's original game jam entry. It received a substantial feature patch on March 1, 2024, adding a minimap system, time trials with outfit rewards, camera improvements, and various quality-of-life fixes. The developer simultaneously released the game's soundtrack as a separate purchasable DLC on the same date. In that same March 1, 2024 post, the developer stated clearly: "for the time being this will be the only major update Pseudo will be getting." They also noted they had "already started production on my next game," and explicitly said they "almost certainly won't be making Pseudoregalia 2." The developer described the game as a "condensed but full" experience by design — a deliberate, complete product. The February 8, 2026 news post was a security notice about a compromised developer account, confirming no work on Pseudoregalia was lost. It contains no indication of new content for this game, and serves only to reassure players that the game itself is safe to play. The previous evaluation cited developer statements from July 2024 and April 2025 referencing a "new adventure" in development. However, re-reading the available evidence carefully: those references, if they existed, are not present in the current context. The only developer communication visible here is the March 1, 2024 post — which is a direct, explicit statement that no further major content is planned for Pseudoregalia — and the February 2026 security notice. The March 2024 statement is a clear completion signal for this game's content. The soundtrack DLC, the only listed DLC, has been released. There are no unreleased DLC entries and no announced future content for Pseudoregalia itself. The game is complete.

About this game

When reality feels like it's falling apart, one might retreat to a world in their dreams to escape it.

Unfotunately, dreams aren't made to last.

Explore a perverse image of noble living. Grow strong, and free those trapped within this rotten dream.

A game originally made for the Metroidvania Month 19 game jam, this extended edition brings new areas, enemies, story, and a visual overhaul, all while retaining the original dreamlike atmosphere.
