Evaluation

PUNIHI LOADER 2 launched into Steam Early Access on December 1, 2023 and remains in that state today. 221GAMES has maintained a consistent and healthy development pace throughout the Early Access period. In a January 2024 developer roadmap post, the studio committed to delivering major updates every 3-4 months leading up to an eventual full release. They have largely followed through: a Spring 2024 update shipped on March 15, 2024 (four new loaders, new missions and tournaments), a Summer 2024 update on August 9, 2024 (Encyclopedia system, balance overhaul, new tournament), a Spring 2025 update on March 13, 2025 (two new loaders, new parts, missions, and tournaments), and most recently a Summer 2026 update on June 25, 2026 — the largest yet — which added two new loaders (BATTLE CHEF and SABURO), three new arenas, a new Survival Mission type, a new tournament, and new gameplay systems including a radar, shield block mechanic, and camera controls. A hotfix followed on July 19, 2026, confirming the developer is still actively maintaining the build. On December 4, 2024 — the game's one-year anniversary — the developer posted a message thanking the community and teasing a new loader planned for 2025, which duly arrived in the Spring 2025 update. Between major drops, a steady stream of feature patches and bug fixes has kept the game regularly updated. The game remains in Early Access and has not been declared feature-complete by the developer. With four major content updates delivered and the most recent arriving in June 2026, the game continues on an active development trajectory.
