Evaluation
Quest of Dungeons launched on March 25, 2014 and has received a series of major free content updates over its lifetime: Update 2.0 on February 24, 2016 (new dungeon, new class, custom game mode), and Update 3.0 on September 24, 2018 (new Mansion environment, new languages). After a period of smaller maintenance and quality-of-life patches in December 2021, the game appeared quiet for several years — but on September 27, 2026, developer David Amador posted a beta for a major v4.0 update, noting "it's been a couple years" and describing months of preparation. The v4.0 update adds a brand-new Mansion Abyss environment with new floors, enemies, and sprites; a Monsterpedia tracking feature; full SDL3 engine upgrade; improved gamepad detection; native Silicon (Apple M-series) support for Mac; and numerous bug fixes. The developer explicitly states this content is being released for free and is actively soliciting testers to help verify the new build before it goes to the main branch. This is a substantial content addition currently in beta — not yet fully shipped to all players — and the developer has made no statement indicating this will be the final update.

About this game
Quest of Dungeons is a turn based dungeon crawler game featuring a good old 16-bit retro artistic look.

That thing people usually skip
An unspecific evil Dark Lord has stolen all the light, so your mission is to enter his lair and defeat him. That's it, now go get him.
Description
By playing as either a Warrior, a Wizard, a Assassin or a Shaman you have to traverse dungeons, defeat enemies and loot everything you can in order to survive. You can learn new skills in Tomes you find along the way and buy/sell items at shops.
The entire game is procedural so you won't find items/enemies in the same place each time you play.
