Real VR Fishing launched on Steam on December 6, 2024 and has been receiving a consistent stream of new content ever since. The developer has shipped 14 DLC packs to date, including a large batch of regional packs in November 2025, the City DLC in March 2026, and the Picnic Festa DLC on June 5, 2026. Alongside paid DLC, the studio has run a robust seasonal event program — most recently the Spring Shark Frenzy (April 2026), the Dark Megalodon Boss Stage (May 2026), and the Marlin Open tournament (July 21, 2026), showing developer communications as recently as July 2026. In January 2026, the CEO published a milestone post celebrating 1 million copies sold and explicitly confirmed the studio's independence and ongoing commitment, including a detailed 2026 roadmap covering monthly DLC releases, new fishing systems (Fly Fishing, Ice Fishing), an Aquarium Expansion, a Fishing Buddy System, and structured competitive play via Leagues & Tournaments. Several of these roadmap items have not yet shipped. Most concretely, on April 1, 2026 the developer officially announced a Dave the Diver collaboration DLC targeting June 2026. That DLC has not appeared in the store listing as of August 2026, meaning announced content remains outstanding. The developer is visibly active, well-funded, and operating on a high-cadence monthly content cycle with both specific unshipped announcements and a broad roadmap of planned features still ahead.
