Realities

Realities launched on April 5, 2016 as a free-to-play VR exploration game built around photogrammetry scans of real-world locations. It received a steady stream of feature updates and new location content through 2016–2018, culminating in six paid DLC location packs — all of which were released by August 16, 2018. The last technical update was on May 10, 2019, adding Valve Index Controller support. On June 11, 2025, the developer (realities.io) posted an announcement making the game's status unambiguous: they stated that "Realities never became sustainable for us to continue long-term," and that the experience and technology built for Realities enabled them to move on and build their follow-up project, Puzzling Places. This is a clear developer statement that active development on Realities has ended. All six DLC packs are released, no further content has been announced, and the developer has explicitly acknowledged the project is no longer being supported. The store description still mentions "regularly updated with new locations," but this reflects outdated copy and is directly contradicted by the developer's own 2025 statement. The game is a complete, finished product.
