The developer followed up with consistent post-launch work: a major logistics overhaul in June 2019 (v1.2), the 2130 expansion on October 24, 2019 (alongside the free 2.0 base game update), a soundtrack DLC in April 2020, and a final feature patch (v2.3, adding a revamped scenario editor) on January 7, 2021.
On February 14, 2021, the developer posted a heartfelt thank-you note explicitly stating that the team had moved on to developing a new restaurant simulation game. This marked a clear signal that active development on Rise of Industry had concluded. All four DLC items in the store listing are released, with no unreleased content remaining.
The story of this game ultimately leads to a sequel: Rise of Industry 2 launched on June 3, 2025, confirming the developer's long-term focus had shifted away from the original title. The original Rise of Industry is a complete, finished product. The last substantive content update was the v2.3 feature patch on January 7, 2021.

Rise of Industry is a strategic tycoon game where you build and manage your growing industrial empire in a living, breathing, and procedurally generated world set in the 1930s that is constantly evolving and adapting to your playstyle.
As a budding entrepreneur, you will build factories, construct efficient production lines, move raw materials, produce finished goods, and arrange trade with the world's developing cities, providing them with the resources they need to flourish - for as they grow and prosper, so do you.
However, it won’t always be a smooth ride to magnate status. Random business events and stock auctions will keep you on your toes, all while A.I. rivals compete for market share and look for ways to grow and exploit enemy weaknesses - beware of the hostile takeover.
