Saints Row: The Third launched on November 14, 2011 and received an extensive wave of DLC throughout 2011 and 2012, including three story mission packs (Genkibowl VII, Gangstas In Space, and The Trouble With Clones) and numerous costume, vehicle, and item packs. The Season Pass released alongside the game covered the major story content. The final DLC, the Unlockable Pack, shipped on August 14, 2012. All 20 listed DLC items are released, and there are no unreleased DLC entries on the store. Developer news posts since launch consist entirely of sales, discounts, and cross-promotions — no new content announcements, roadmaps, or development updates of any kind. The game's content cycle wrapped up in mid-2012, over 13 years ago, with no indication of any further additions.

The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to Steelport, a once-proud metropolis reduced to a struggling city of sin under Syndicate control.
