Evaluation

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse Remastered launched on August 14, 2024, as the third and final entry in Skunkape Games' remastered Sam & Max trilogy. The store description explicitly describes it as "last in a trilogy," and the short description calls it "the last game in the episodic Sam & Max trilogy." This is a complete, self-contained remaster of Telltale's 2010 episodic season. The game shipped with one DLC — a free pack containing the original 2010 version of the game — which was released two days after launch on August 16, 2024. That DLC is now released, and no other DLC has been announced or listed. Following launch, Skunkape delivered a series of bug fix and polish patches (versions 1.3.0 through 1.7.0, spanning August 2024 through March 2026), addressing longstanding issues from the original 2010 release as well as new ones introduced in the remaster. These are maintenance updates rather than new content additions. The one remaining announced deliverable at launch was the original soundtrack, which the launch post flagged as "still being pulled together." That soundtrack was released on April 17, 2025, completing all known planned content for the game. A FLAC version and a bonus track were added to the soundtrack on April 21, 2025. Skunkape has since shifted focus to a remastered version of Poker Night at the Inventory, announced in February 2026 and released on March 5, 2026. A 20th anniversary celebration post from September 2025 promoted sales across all three Sam & Max remasters without hinting at any further content for The Devil's Playhouse specifically. With the soundtrack released, all DLC shipped, and the studio's attention clearly on a new project, the game is complete.
Evidence
The long-awaited Devil's Playhouse Original Soundtrack was announced and released the following day (April 17, 2025), fulfilling the last outstanding deliverable mentioned at launch.

About this game

An ancient, terrible power lies waiting…

Max has always been the more unhinged member of the Freelance Police—a lovable lunatic with a knack for spreading chaos wherever he goes. But recently his abilities have taken a supernatural turn.

It all started when he stumbled upon a mysterious toy that allows him to glimpse the future. Now Sam & Max have aroused the attention of a host of villains from across the galaxy who are hellbent on acquiring the magical Toys of Power to achieve their own ends.

As those who seek the Devil’s Toybox close in and Max’s psychic abilities grow beyond his control, the Freelance Police will come up against their most frightening adversary yet: the power of Max’s mind.
