Evaluation
Sanitarium is a classic point-and-click adventure game originally released in 1998, brought to Steam by Dotemu on October 29, 2014. The current store page for this version now prominently announces that "Sanitarium Enhanced" — an enhanced and updated version of the game with new features — is coming soon to Steam, with a wishlist prompt included. This is a direct developer communication indicating that new content tied to this title is on the way, even if it will be delivered as a separate product. The original 2014 Steam release itself has had no post-launch content updates beyond a bug fix patch on October 31, 2014, but the announcement of a forthcoming enhanced edition means the developer is actively working on something new in this space.
Evidence
The store page prominently announces 'Sanitarium Enhanced,' described as an enhanced and updated version of the game with new features, coming soon to Steam with a wishlist link.
A bug fix patch was released two days after the Steam launch to address crash and save issues. This is the only developer communication since the 2014 release.
