Schedule I entered Steam Early Access on March 24, 2025 and has maintained a strong and consistent update cadence. The developer, Tyler, has grown TVGS from a solo operation into a small studio — as of January 6, 2026, the team moved into an office in Sydney and brought on a second developer, with plans to reach four people by end of 2026. Six major content updates have shipped since launch: the Rival Cartel update (August 27, 2025), the Halloween Update with a new sewer system (November 2, 2025), the Shrooms Update (December 26, 2025), the Weather Update (March 19, 2026), the Anniversary Update (March 30, 2026), and the v0.4.6 gamepad support and optimization update (released as an open beta on July 9, 2026 and fully launched by August 1, 2026). The team has also shipped numerous feature patches and bug fixes in between, with the most recent patch dropping on August 14, 2026. A named upcoming content update — "Special Customers" — was announced on April 26, 2026 following a community vote, introducing travelling customer groups (Bikers, Businessmen, Hippies, a Party Bus, and a Rock Band) that purchase drugs in bulk. Originally targeting June–July 2026, the August 1, 2026 developer post confirmed it is still in progress but "not far off" and shared a preview image, meaning it has not yet shipped as of today (August 19, 2026). The developer has also discussed mod support as a longer-term goal being laid groundwork for through ongoing code refactoring. There is no indication development is slowing or nearing completion — the studio is actively expanding, committed updates are still pending, and the cadence of patches remains frequent.
