Evaluation
SCP: Nine-Tailed Fox is a free-to-play Early Access game that entered Steam on February 2, 2022. It currently sits at version 0.2.x while the team has been working toward version 0.3.0 for an extended period, which represents a major milestone introducing SCP-682 in multiplayer, new SCP containment procedures, expanded classic mode content, and more.
The developer's most recent public update was a developer log on October 4, 2025, which confirmed that v0.3.0 was nearing completion, announced that the SCP-682 multiplayer map was in its "final state," previewed new SCRAMBLE gear mechanics, and notably began laying out plans for the subsequent v0.4.0 update — signaling intent to continue development well beyond the current version. The team also announced the return of their "Dev Streams: Season 3" series.
However, as of June 25, 2026, no further communication has been published since October 4, 2025 — a silence of more than eight months. Version 0.3.0 has not shipped during this window. Prior to the October 2025 post, there had also been a 12-month gap between developer logs (September 2024 to October 2025), suggesting the team works at a slow pace but has not historically gone silent this long without eventually resurfacing. Given that v0.3.0 was described as nearly finished in October 2025 but has not appeared, and with no explanation offered for the continued delay, there is genuine uncertainty about whether development is proceeding as planned.
Evidence
Developer log confirms v0.3.0 is nearing completion, SCP-682 multiplayer map is in final state, SCRAMBLE gear is implemented, and pre-planning for v0.4.0 has begun. This is the most recent developer communication.
Developer teases v0.4.0 features including classic mode expansions and an interactive command wheel, confirming development plans extend beyond v0.3.0.

About this game
Experience the horror of being the one meant to stay in control amid seemingly unsalvageable chaos.
You are the leader of Foxtrot Unit 1, "Nine-Tailed Fox", a highly trained force tasked with re-containing a multitude of terrifying anomalous entities that have broken loose inside a top-secret research facility.
SCP: Nine-Tailed Fox is a free survival horror game based on SCP - Containment Breach. The events of the game take place at a containment site of the SCP Foundation, a secret organization dedicated to containing and researching anomalous artifacts and entities known as SCPs that threaten the normalcy of the world. Whenever things go wrong, a highly specialized Mobile Task Force is always at the ready to quickly and efficiently restore order-but what if the scale of chaos exceeds anything ever seen before?

- Who am I? You're thrown into the boots of a Mobile Task Force commander. Equipped with military-grade weaponry and specialized technology, you and your squad must fight your way through what appears to be the worst containment breach to date.
- Re-contain the SCPs: Numerous sentient and more often than not violent anomalies have escaped containment. You must secure them, but beware: their integrity is extremely valuable to the Foundation and to science as a whole. Lethal force should only be used as a last resort.
- Terminate the escapees: D-Class personnel are disposable assets, consisting exclusively of death row inmates. Given the situation, they can be expected to be armed and violent. Considering their potential possession of Foundation intelligence, the difficulty of handling them by other means, and their general expendability, they are to be terminated on sight.

- Team Deathmatch (MTF vs CI): The Chaos Insurgency is a group that once belonged to the Foundation but went A.W.O.L. shortly after its creation. They have a peculiar interest in anomalous objects and are looking to take advantage of the… unfavorable situation currently unfolding at one of the Foundation's largest sites. Could they be behind all of this?
Fight for them-or defend the facility against them! - Waves (PvE Mode): A rare and aggressive strain of SCP-008 has infected a large sector of the facility. Grab a team of friends (or strangers) and fend off waves of infected, along with other anomalies that have breached containment.
