Evaluation
Zombie Carnage 2 is a free-to-play multiplayer shooter that launched on February 3, 2022 and has been receiving regular updates ever since. The game is built around an ongoing live service model: it features Battle Passes with time-limited cosmetic rewards, rotating seasonal campaigns (such as the Astra campaign and Halloween event), and a monetized progression system with purchasable credits. In a September 2025 post, the developer confirmed plans to integrate the Steam Community Market for buying and selling skins, with an estimated rollout no sooner than 6 months from that post.
The game entered a major "2.0 Beta" phase in September 2025, which the developer described as a large content overhaul with many features still to be added and adjusted at a rapid pace. Follow-up patches (Beta 2 through Beta 5) shipped between September and October 2025, continuing to add new game modes, balance changes, and seasonal content. The last recorded developer communication was on October 25, 2025, with active patching ongoing at that time.
The combination of Battle Passes, time-limited seasonal events, planned marketplace features, and the developer's stated intent to continue improving the game at pace makes this a live service game with no announced end to content development.
Evidence
A new Battle Pass launched featuring 5 weapon skins, with an explicit end date of November 23, 2025 — confirming a rotating, time-limited monetized content cycle.
New 'Astra' campaign added as a time-limited progression reward, ending in 1 month — part of a recurring seasonal content system.
