Secret Agent Wizard Boy

Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate entered Early Access on March 6, 2025 and remains in active development toward a much larger 1.0 release. Since launch, the developer has shipped two major content updates: the Groundwork Update on June 24, 2025 (introducing the Spy Missions system, upgrades, inventory, and the Spy Lair), and the Spring Cleaning Update (Beta 1.2.0) on March 17, 2026 (adding the Prop Collection system, a fully reworked possession spell, 15 new missions, new gadgets, spider enemies, 8-player multiplayer support, and major engine optimizations). In between, the developer has maintained a consistent cadence of detailed dev update posts documenting ongoing work. The centerpiece of the current development effort is a large castle redesign that will form the core of the next major update (Beta 2.0). This redesign expands the castle with a full exterior area, a significantly reworked interior, and vehicles like broomsticks and tanks. The developer showed early whitebox layouts in October 2025, announced vehicles as a major new feature in December 2025, and as of May 18, 2026 confirmed the team is actively working on interior design, lighting, and new characters for the new castle. The developer also mentioned experimenting with additional breakout dungeon areas, though those are described as a lower priority until the castle is complete. The developer has been transparent that a 1.0 release is still some time away, tied to completing this expanded vision of the game's core sandbox environment. Development is clearly ongoing and well-communicated.
