Sharded World

Sharded World entered Steam Early Access on January 16, 2023, and the developer (Nasty Cat) was consistently active throughout its first year. They shipped four major content updates between April and July 2023 — adding new chapters, weapons, equipment systems, a UI redesign, and reworked enemies — alongside several feature patches and bug fixes. In April 2023, the developer outlined an ambitious roadmap including a new "Chasm" mode, controller support, more story content, and additional items, indicating ongoing development intent. From late 2023 onward, the developer's attention appeared to shift toward a spin-off title. In December 2023 they announced Sharded World: Backpack Adventure, and in February 2024 they posted about that game's demo launch. That February 5, 2024 post is the last official communication from the developer on the main game's Steam page. Since then — spanning more than 16 months through June 2026 — there have been no updates, patch notes, developer blogs, or any other communications about Sharded World. The game remains in Early Access, which by Steam's own framework means it is an unfinished product still in development, yet there is no indication from the developer that work is continuing. No 1.0 release has been announced, no completion date has been given, and the developer has not addressed the extended silence. This combination — an Early Access game, a prior active update cadence now fully stopped, and no communication for over a year — raises genuine uncertainty about whether active development is continuing.
