Evaluation
Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring is a standalone adventure game that originally released on August 6, 2009. The store description presents it as a complete, self-contained mystery experience — a single case set in Victorian London with no mention of additional content, expansions, or post-launch updates. There is no DLC listed for this title, and the developer has made no announcements of planned content for it.
The developer news associated with this Steam account is focused entirely on Frogwares' newer title, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One (released November 2021), including its DLC and promotional posts. The only patches applied to The Silver Earring were a two-part Windows 10 compatibility fix released in April–May 2021, which addressed startup and save issues in Frogwares' back-catalog games — purely maintenance work to keep an older title running on modern systems.
This game launched as a finished, complete product in 2009 and has received no post-launch content additions. The compatibility patches confirm Frogwares still occasionally maintains their back-catalog, but there is no indication of any new content planned or in development for this title.
Evidence
Store description presents a complete, self-contained mystery game with no mention of DLC, expansions, or ongoing content.
Major content post refers to Sherlock Holmes Chapter One DLC (Mycroft's Pride), an entirely separate game — not relevant to The Silver Earring.
