Shoulders of Giants: Ultimate is the definitive Steam release of the game, launching on August 12, 2024. As explained in the pre-launch post [NEWS-3], this version represents the culmination of all post-launch updates made on prior platforms — including new classes, engine upgrades to Unreal Engine 5, UI overhauls, and extensive balance work — packaged into what the developer explicitly calls "the best game it can be." Following launch, the developer issued a couple of small patches (1.9.5 and 1.9.6) addressing bugs and quality-of-life items, consistent with post-launch polish rather than an ongoing content cycle. The most recent developer communication from December 4, 2024 [NEWS-1] announced the release of a separate standalone game, Entropy Survivors — a prequel set in the same universe. This was not an update to Shoulders of Giants: Ultimate itself, but a new product. No updates, announcements, or roadmap posts for additional content in Shoulders of Giants: Ultimate have appeared since launch. There are no unreleased DLC items listed on the store, and the developer has not signaled any further content additions to this title. Shoulders of Giants: Ultimate appears to have shipped as a complete, fully-featured product.

The forces of Entropy are spreading chaos through the stars, corrupting living planets and urging on the heat death of the universe.
