Evaluation
SimRail launched its full 1.0 release on December 13, 2024, following an Early Access period. Since then, the developer has maintained an active and consistent release schedule, shipping five paid DLC packages post-launch: Łódź–Warsaw route (April 30, 2025), CD 163 Series locomotive (January 25, 2026), Łódź Junction route and Impuls 2 EMU (February 26, 2026), and most recently the Łódź North Region DLC on August 13, 2026, adding 140 km of new routes.
In the August 13, 2026 launch post for the Łódź North Region DLC, the developer explicitly stated: "We're not slowing down! We're already working on our next route, this time leaving the Łódź region behind, as well as another new train. There's plenty more to come, so keep an eye on our upcoming posts." This confirms that additional content — a new route and a new train — is already in development, with more details to follow. That announcement is the most recent developer communication on record, dated August 13, 2026, just two days before today's assessment date.
Beyond paid DLC, the developer has continued shipping regular feature patches throughout 2026, including improvements to graphics, vehicle physics, save game functionality, and a mission editor with Steam Workshop support.
