SimRail - The Railway Simulator: Prologue is a free standalone preview product released on December 16, 2021. It was designed from the outset as a limited sampler — a promotional vehicle to showcase the full SimRail simulator — rather than a game receiving its own ongoing content development cycle. The developer's own news posts confirm this purpose clearly. The prologue launched with two scenarios (a freight and a passenger mission) and was explicitly positioned as a preview of the full game. A November 2022 announcement confirmed that the full SimRail - The Railway Simulator would launch in Early Access on January 13, 2023, which it did. A January 2023 post confirmed the Early Access release of that full game, effectively marking the prologue's job as done. There have been no developer posts directed at the prologue since its launch content went live, no DLC has been listed for it, and no roadmap or future content has ever been announced for it.
