Slap City launched into full release on September 17, 2020, graduating from Steam Early Access with version 1.0. At that time, the developer stated the game had "reached all of the Early Access goals we had planned." The game received one significant post-launch content update — version 1.1 on October 4, 2022 — which added two new playable characters (Cruiser Tetron and Orka), two new stages, and brought the game to Nintendo Switch with cross-platform online play. That update represents the last major content addition to the game. Since October 2022, developer communications have consisted entirely of a single bug-fix patch (November 2022) and a soundtrack DLC release in December 2024. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content, and no roadmap pointing to upcoming additions. The developer has not communicated any plans for further characters, stages, or major updates. With only two major content milestones post-launch (the 1.0 release and the 1.1 update) and no activity beyond maintenance since late 2022, the game appears to have concluded its content development with the 1.1 update.

Want a break from fighting? Try Slap Ball! (Note: there will be no breaks from fighting.)
In this team-based game mode, players slap the ball into the opponent's basket to score. The more the ball gets juggled in the air without touching the ground, the more points it'll be worth, allowing for some serious plays and comebacks. Don't forget to rest near your goal to recover some damage, or each hit from your opponent will soon send you several laps around the court!
