Slappyball

Slappyball launched its 1.0 release on November 7, 2024, after several years in Early Access. The game features a Slappypass cosmetic system and a daily store, which are hallmarks of a live-service structure — however, this has now come to an end. On December 5, 2025, the developer Amelore posted a frank announcement explaining that the game's dedicated matchmaking servers have cost significantly more than the game has been generating in revenue for roughly a year and a half. Ad revenue declined and DLC/cosmetic purchases were too low to sustain the service. As a result, they announced that January 30, 2026 would be the final day for dedicated matchmaking servers. After January 30, 2026, online Competitive and Casual modes backfill with AI opponents rather than real players. Custom lobbies hosted by players, practice mode, and AI matches remain available. The developer expressed gratitude to the community and described the announcement as a farewell to the live, player-vs-player portion of the game. The developer has made no announcements of future content or continued development since that post. The Slappypass and cosmetic systems that defined the game's ongoing content model are no longer being actively supported. The game has effectively reached the end of its supported lifecycle as of January 30, 2026.
