SNKRX launched on May 17, 2021 and received a burst of weekly major content updates in its first two months: the QoL Update (May 29, 2021), Sorcerer Update (June 5, 2021), Mercenary Update (June 11, 2021), Item Update (June 18, 2021), Orb Update (June 25, 2021), and Loop Update (July 4, 2021). During this period the developer had promised a larger "Stat Update" rewrite that would overhaul the game's core systems, followed by a "Roguelite Update." On July 1, 2022, the developer posted a direct statement cancelling the promised rewrite update entirely, explaining that the project had been overscoped and that motivation had run out. The post explicitly states: "from now on the game will remain in the state it is now and I'll move on to other projects" and "there will be no more updates to this game from me." The developer also noted the game's source code is available on GitHub for community contributions, but no further official Steam updates have been made since that announcement. This is a clear and unambiguous developer statement that development has concluded. The game is complete as of July 1, 2022.
