Soul of War: Legions launched on October 17, 2023 as an 8-player PvP auto-chess strategy game with a seasonal battle pass structure. Since launch, the developer (Fantasy War Studio) maintained a regular cadence of balance patches and seasonal updates. Season 3 launched on October 27, 2023, and Season 4 launched on January 1, 2024. A new season was teased in a February 27, 2024 announcement post, and a new batch of artifacts was added in an August 21, 2024 update — the most recent developer communication on record.
The game is designed as a live service with seasonal battle passes that rotate in new heroes, artifacts, and stickers each cycle. This is an ongoing content model by design, not a game intended to ship a fixed set of content and conclude.
However, no developer posts or updates of any kind have appeared since August 21, 2024 — a gap of approximately 10 months through today's date of June 20, 2026. Given the previously active update rhythm (multiple patches and a new season roughly every few months), this extended silence is unusual and raises genuine uncertainty about whether the development team is still actively supporting the game.
