SPACERIFT: Arcanum System

SPACERIFT: Arcanum System is an Early Access open-world space MMO that has been in continuous development since its December 2020 launch. Arcanum Team has maintained a prolific and consistent update cadence throughout: 100 news posts total, including 7 major named content drops, 16 feature patches, and 22 bug fixes. Major updates have arrived steadily — most recently "Guns, Smoke, Two Ships" on August 27, 2025, which added two new ships, a new weapon, escort and pirate lair contracts, and sector danger ratings. Prior to that, significant feature patches landed throughout 2025 covering mining system overhauls, a module damage system, new ships, and NPC behavior improvements. The most recent developer communication was posted on June 16, 2026 — just yesterday — introducing Update 2026.1, a major law enforcement system overhaul with station beam cannons, criminal bounties, and station wear-and-tear mechanics. This confirms the developer is actively shipping new systems right now. A June 2025 patch note also explicitly referenced "the first of four planned mining mechanic iterations," indicating the developer has publicly committed to additional work ahead. The game has not announced a 1.0 release date or signaled that development is winding down.
