The Infinite Black 2

The Infinite Black 2 launched on June 16, 2023 and has maintained a consistent stream of major content updates ever since. Post-launch highlights include a large-scale Invasions PvE system (August 2023), Gladiator ranks and the Phoenix ship mod (December 2023), a full game engine overhaul (April 2024), a massive mega-server merge with 80 leaderboards (November 2024), a new competitive BlackStar Arena mode with seasonal leaderboards and Golden Skulls currency (March 2026), a new Expeditions mission system (May 2026), a missions UI overhaul (June 2026), and most recently a Reputation system, Faction Rogue Arena, and the addition of a Space Pass seasonal battle pass (July 2026). As of August 18, 2026, the developer shipped another update adding new Space Pass configurations and a premium tier purchase option. The game is explicitly designed as a persistent, cross-platform online world described as a "never-ending intergalactic war." The July 2026 update introduced a Space Pass — a seasonal battle pass with 28-day cycles, daily and seasonal missions, and a purchasable Gold Pass upgrade — which is a hallmark live service monetization structure. Combined with recurring hard currencies, seasonal competitive leaderboards with prizes, and roughly six or more major content releases per year, this game is built to receive ongoing content indefinitely with no indication from the developer that this will change.
