Evaluation

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake launched on January 31, 2023 as a complete, self-contained 3D platformer. Its only DLC — a Costume Pack — was available on launch day and has been released since then. The game received a series of patches through mid-2023 adding quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and new features, culminating in a next-generation console upgrade (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) on October 23, 2023 that also added Photo Mode and two new costumes to all platforms. No further updates or content have been posted since October 2023. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced roadmaps, and no developer statements pointing to future content for this game. The studio (Purple Lamp) and publisher (THQ Nordic) have since moved on to a new title — SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide — which was announced on August 1, 2025 and released on November 18, 2025. The Cosmic Shake appears to have concluded its post-launch support with the Gen9 upgrade in October 2023, functioning as a finished, stand-alone product.
