SteamWorld Dig launched on December 5, 2013 as a complete, self-contained action-adventure game. The developer shipped a handful of small patches in the weeks following launch to address bugs and add minor features like control binding, with the last patch noted in February 2014. The only paid add-on ever released was a standalone soundtrack, which arrived on April 28, 2014 — rounding out the game's content offering. No additional gameplay DLC, expansions, or updates have been released or announced for the game itself since then. The developer's subsequent news posts on this store page have focused entirely on new entries in the broader SteamWorld franchise — SteamWorld Heist (2016), SteamWorld Build (2023), and SteamWorld Heist II (2024) — none of which add content to SteamWorld Dig. A 10th anniversary post in August 2023 was celebratory in nature and contained no indication of new content being planned for the original game. SteamWorld Dig launched as a finished product and has been content-complete since the soundtrack released in April 2014.
