SUPER BUILD entered Steam Early Access on August 30, 2019, with MOONBEAR actively communicating a vision for ongoing development. From launch through mid-2022, the developer shipped a series of content updates — including a Halloween items drop (October 2019), a Japanese-themed update with over 100 new items (September 2020), a post-apocalyptic themed update with over 260 new items (December 2020), and a Cats update (June 2022) — alongside feature patches and bug fixes. The store page explicitly lists features still being developed, including multiplayer, first-person swimming and riding, the ability to go inside buildings in first-person, and a zombie survival mode. However, the most recent developer communication of any kind was a July 21, 2022 engine update post, in which the developer acknowledged slow updates and cited work on a major engine upgrade as the reason. Since that post, there has been complete silence — no patches, no announcements, no roadmap updates, and no explanation for the gap. The game remains on Steam in its Early Access state, and the store description still references those undelivered features as things "currently being developed." Given that the last update was on July 21, 2022, and the game remains in Early Access with multiple unfinished commitments, the current status of development is genuinely unclear. The developer has not announced the end of development, but also has not demonstrated any activity in nearly four years.
