Superbugs: Awaken launched into Early Access and officially reached its full 1.0 release on March 23–24, 2022. The v1.0 update was a substantial overhaul — described by the developer as "in many ways a completely new game" — adding a revamped ability system, 18 new enemy types, a new zone, new bosses, and a new game mode. Following the 1.0 launch, the developer issued a small bug fix patch on March 24, 2022, and no further updates or announcements have been made since then. There is no DLC, no roadmap, no season pass, and no developer communication indicating additional content is planned. The game shipped as a complete product at its 1.0 release, and the developer has not signaled any intention to continue developing it further. The last official communication from the developer was on March 24, 2022.

Don’t let the colorful environments fool you. The enemies are annoying beyond your tolerance... so you two must prepare! They are widely varied in traits, appearances, behaviors and will definitely give you a hard time!
Every time you use a skill to your advantage, your friend will get a side effect. This makes your friend, and not the Superbugs, your worst enemy sometimes... unless you two have mad communication skills.
You will have the chance to explore blood vessels, jump over stomach acid or mess around with brain tissues. You’ll uncover literally the darkest deepest secret of your beloved cat.
