Evaluation

Fury Unleashed launched out of Early Access on May 8, 2020. Following launch, the developer at Awesome Games Studio delivered two major updates: Update 1.7 on February 9, 2021, which added two crossover game modes (Crypt of the NecroDancer and SUPERHOT), and the Online Co-Op full release on October 28, 2021, which brought the previously-promised online multiplayer feature to all platforms. The October 2021 post also noted the studio had been working on the game for over six years and began teasing their next project — a clear signal that active Fury Unleashed development was winding down. The most recent developer news post, from October 1, 2025, officially announced their next game, HELLREAPER, describing it as a "spiritual successor to Fury Unleashed" that they had started developing in 2020. This framing — combined with the absence of any new content announcements or updates for Fury Unleashed since October 2021 — makes clear that the studio's focus has fully shifted to HELLREAPER. No further content for Fury Unleashed has been announced or hinted at. The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which was released in February 2020 and has no unreleased follow-ups. All previously promised features (Save & Quit, Online Co-Op) were delivered. The game launched as a complete product and has received all content the developer set out to add.

About this game

Fury Unleashed was created by combining inspiration from modern roguelite platformers, like Dead Cells and Rogue Legacy, with nostalgic memories of old-school platformer shooters, like Contra and Metal Slug. We have spent five years polishing our creation to make sure that your experience with the game will be as memorable as those titles and we really believe that you won't be disappointed.
