Spirits Abyss launched from Early Access on August 27, 2020 after a lengthy development period that included numerous major content updates. The game received two substantial post-launch major content drops: the "Accursed Nightmares" update (August 30, 2021), which added new regions, clans, enemies, items, and game modes, and a significant "Hubby Maintenance" update (September 11, 2023) that modernized the interface and quality-of-life features.
