Evaluation
Superflight launched on November 8, 2017 as a deliberate, self-contained product. The developer was transparent from the very beginning about its scope: a small team of three students made it as a university project, and they intentionally kept it simple. In a post on November 13, 2017, they explained clearly that rather than adding many new features, they preferred to fix bugs, keep the game focused, and then move on to making new games. They followed through on that: a handful of bug-fix and feature patches shipped in the two weeks after launch, with the last notable update on November 21, 2017. No further Superflight-specific content updates followed. The studio has since released two other games — ISLANDERS (April 2019) and Thronefall (announced June 2023) — consistent with their stated intent to move forward rather than expand Superflight. The store description itself is candid that this is "not a huge game with hours and hours of content," and the game's feature set (procedurally generated maps, online leaderboards, seed sharing) is fully intact. Superflight launched as a complete, finished product and has remained that way.
Evidence
Developer explicitly stated they would not be adding many features, preferring to fix bugs and then move on to making new games rather than expanding Superflight indefinitely. They described the game as intentionally simple and complete in its design.
GrizzlyGames released a new game, ISLANDERS, consistent with their stated intent to move on from Superflight and create new projects.
