Surmount launched on Steam Early Access in late 2019, receiving regular feature patches and bug fixes throughout 2020 and 2021 as the developer progressively added character routes and content. On February 13, 2022 (Valentine's Day), the game graduated to its full 1.0 release, completing the remaining character storylines and adding traditional Chinese language support. On February 10, 2023, the developer celebrated the 1.0 version's one-year anniversary with a discount event and a Deluxe Edition bundle combining the existing OST and Art Book DLCs — this was a commercial celebration post, not an announcement of new content. Both DLC items (the Art Book and Soundtrack) were listed on the store as far back as December 2020 and are fully released. There is no unreleased DLC on the store, no roadmap, and no developer statement promising additional content after the 1.0 launch. The anniversary post on February 10, 2023 is the last substantive developer communication. The developer's earlier statement in December 2020 that they would "not stop updating the game until we finish all the content" was fulfilled by the 1.0 release in February 2022, which brought all planned character routes to completion. With all content shipped, no outstanding commitments, and no post-1.0 update cadence beyond the anniversary celebration, the game appears to have concluded its content development at the time of its 1.0 anniversary.

That game -- what became known as the "miracle moment" -- was supposed to be the beginning of everything, but it ended my dream.
I had already accepted this fact and even started to give up on myself.
That day, the team sent me an offer for a coaching position.
This is the story that I create the miracle of e-sports one more time together with them...
- Interview, then sign up! Meet with the favorite player offline, see their true image, then sign up.
- Choose your favorite players from the 15 players with unique characteristics to form your own e-sports team.
- Multiple identities and daily life: coach, student, and online game player.
- School attendance: Check attendance, do not skip class!
- Urban daily life: Internet cafe, board game hall, food court... Meet new friends.
