On March 19, 2019, the Survived By team published a message to players announcing that development was ceasing immediately. The post explained that despite belief in the game's core concept, the team concluded they would not be able to reach their original vision. All real-money purchases were disabled the same day, full automatic refunds were promised to anyone who had spent money in the game, and the servers were scheduled to shut down on April 19, 2019. The game is no longer purchasable on Steam, confirming it has been removed from the storefront. The game never left Early Access before development ended.
