Realm of the Mad God Exalt is a free-to-play MMO that has been running as an ongoing live service since its 2012 launch. The game operates on a structured seasonal content model, with each season delivering multiple major named updates containing new classes, dungeons, events, Battle Passes, cosmetics, and gameplay systems. The release cadence in 2026 has been extremely active: Season 27 Part 1 (February 24), Season 28 Part 1 (April 14), Season 28 Part 2 (May 5), Season 29 Part 1 (June 2), Season 29 Part 2 (July 7), and most recently Season 30 Part 1: Retrowinds on August 4, 2026 — roughly one major update every 4–6 weeks. A March 2025 team letter from the developer explicitly stated that "Realm has come a long way over the past years and we are just getting started," and outlined major ongoing projects including a new Realm Expansion with a World Boss, a new endgame dungeon, and the Equipment Rarity system. Many of these projects have since shipped, and the seasonal model continues with no sign of stopping. The recurring Battle Pass system, rotating seasonal missions, and Crucible mechanics — all of which refresh with each new season — are the hallmarks of a game designed for indefinite ongoing operation. There is no indication from the developer that content development is winding down.
