Swords of Gurrah has been in Early Access since April 21, 2020. The developer, Devster LLC, was reasonably active in the game's first year and a half — shipping patches, balance updates, and one significant content update (the Katana Update in November 2020) that added new weapons, maps, and game modes. That same update listed a long slate of features still in progress, including a Dragon Boss, Raid roles with special player types, cross-platform support, new game modes, and additional maps.
A November 2021 feature patch addressed netcode and backend systems, and the developer noted that "lots of new content in the works" was on the way. That post, dated November 21, 2021, is the last official communication from the developer on any channel. No updates, patches, announcements, or developer responses have appeared since that date. The promised features from November 2020 were never delivered, and the game has not progressed toward a 1.0 release.
Given that the last communication was on November 21, 2021 — more than four years before today — and multiple announced features remain undelivered, it is unclear whether development is continuing. The game's store page still carries Early Access status and notes "we have a lot of things in the works," but there is no evidence the developer is actively working on the game.

The Weapons:
These weapons are designed to shatter and regrow on every collision. This allows you to block and parry in a way previously never before seen in Virtual Reality due to the limitations of the technology. No longer will VR sword fighting feel clunky and inconsistent; the weapons are light weight, fluid but pack a punch.
Gurrah has a wide selection of weapons: one hand swords, shields, glaives, spears, axes, heavy-class swords, double-sided sabers, daggers, and throwing stars. Select and train, the choice is yours!
The Beasts:
The arena presents many threats to keep gladiators on their toes. Fully armored bulls, tigers, hydras and more are ready for battle. Bred and bio-engineered to fight with ferocity. Each beast presents a new challenge, testing the ability of a warrior to adjust on the fly. The crowd must be entertained!
