Synthetic Lover launched on January 13, 2022 as a complete visual novel with a defined set of content: 138,000+ words, 7 endings, 57 CGs, full voice acting, and an OST. All four DLC items — a choice guide, an adult patch, an artbook, and the official soundtrack — have been released, with the last one (the Soundtrack) shipping on February 2, 2023. The developer has not announced any additional content for Synthetic Lover. The news posts from the Synthetic Lover Steam page are focused entirely on HeartCoreDev's subsequent games — The Symbiant and The Symbiant II — with no indication of further updates or content for Synthetic Lover itself. The game shipped as a self-contained story with all planned supplementary content now delivered.

In the year 2066, biologically engineered humanoids—‘biots’—make up a large percentage of the workforce.
The protagonist is one such biot and, like the rest of his colleagues, he lives to serve a single purpose: to fulfill his pre-programmed vocation. In his case, that is to be a companion in an adult entertainment center known as Dollhouse.
Servants exist as lifeless dolls until activated upon request, a biot’s self-awareness and free will are sealed off by design. That is how the protagonist’s days go until crossing paths with an opportunistic thief and a mysterious device in his possession…
