Evaluation
Tattletail launched on December 28, 2016 as a short, story-driven horror game. The developer followed up with two post-launch updates: The Gift Update on January 9, 2017, which added a secret ending, level select, and various bug fixes; and The Kaleidoscope Expansion on May 10, 2017, a free whole-new campaign with new levels, story, and scares. The Kaleidoscope Expansion was explicitly framed as a "huge thank you" to fans rather than the beginning of an ongoing content cycle. No further developer communications, updates, or announcements have occurred since May 10, 2017. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no roadmap, and no outstanding commitments. The short description on the store ("New DLC Included!") refers to The Kaleidoscope Expansion, which has already shipped. With nearly nine years of silence since the last update and no announced future content, the game is complete as of the Kaleidoscope Expansion release.
