Evaluation
Teenage Blob launched on August 13, 2020 as a unique hybrid game/music album. Following launch, Team Lazerbeam shipped two major free updates: the "Extended Play" update on September 18, 2020 (adding New Game Plus, a Live Mode, localisation, and bug fixes), and "Full Blast" on May 30, 2021 (adding new clothing items, boots, 16 additional music tracks, and an in-game music player). These two updates represent the full arc of post-launch content development for the game.
The most recent developer communication was the 3rd anniversary post on August 15, 2023, in which Team Lazerbeam reflected warmly on the game but made clear they have moved on — explicitly stating they are "hard at work" on their next game, Wrestling With Emotions 2. There is no mention of any planned future content for Teenage Blob, no unreleased DLC, and no outstanding commitments. The tone of the anniversary post reads as a fond farewell to the project rather than a signal of continuing development.
The sole DLC — the Special Edition upgrade — was released on August 14, 2020, the day after launch. All DLC is released. With no further content announced, no active update cadence, and the developer's own words indicating their focus has fully shifted to another project, Teenage Blob is a complete package.
Evidence
3rd anniversary post reflects fondly on the game's run and explicitly states the team is now hard at work on their next game, Wrestling With Emotions 2. No future content for Teenage Blob is mentioned.
Full Blast update released, adding new clothes, boots, 16 new music tracks, and an in-game music player. This is the last major content update shipped for the game.

About this game
The Superweaks recorded six new songs. Team Lazerbeam made six new games. We tied everything together into one tale of bands, butts and bootleg battletoads that's scientifically formulated to put a smile on your face.
You’re an amorphous teen and you’re about to see your favourite band, tonight is going to be the greatest night of your life! There’s just one problem: before the gig you want to buy some new boots, and before you can do that you’re gonna need to work your butt off!

Features:
- A punk music album/game hybrid
- 6 songs by The Superweaks meet 6 games by Team Lazerbeam
- Combining elements of dating sims, RPGs, arcade classics & rhythm games
- Crafted with love and teenage punk rock dreams
Track List:
1 New Year: Melt out of bed, pull yourself into whatever solid form you can muster and craft your unique rebellious look. Will you sass your parents or be a respectful teen?
2 Paperperson: Grab your bike and hit the streets, it’s time to deliver some slammin’ sandwiches! Your boss doesn’t want you to feed the neighborhood dogs, but they’re so damn cute!
3 Guitar Zero: Head to the mall, put on your dorky uniform and sell some guitars! Rock out and stay in time, just ignore the cool mallrats making fun of you.
4 Tony Dork: Slip into your frogsuit and get ready to shred! Chain tricks, clear gaps and collect bananas, only YOU can cheer people up with the power of high fives.
5 Ghoststep: You’ve got your boots and you made it to the gig! Enjoy crowdsurfing in “the second most realistic moshing simulator ever made”!
6 The Deepest Blues: Return home after the greatest night of your life, fall asleep and dream.

PLEASE NOTE: Just like an EP, this is a short game that takes about [30 minutes] to finish but like any good album, can be enjoyed again and again
Hold Up, What’s a Split?
The split album is a long running DIY indie/punk tradition, it’s a collaborative release featuring songs by two or more bands. Typically each band takes a side of the record/tape, although some splits have seen bands alternating between tracks, remixing/ covering each other’s songs, or even joining forces to record new ones.
