TerraTech Worlds entered Early Access on March 22, 2024, and remains there — the developer has not announced a 1.0 release date and continues to describe the game as a work in progress. In May 2025, Payload Studios published a candid status update acknowledging serious financial difficulties and staff layoffs, but confirmed the studio had survived those challenges, secured a new publishing partnership with Mythwright, and remained fully committed to bringing the game to 1.0. This resolved what could have been a serious threat to the game's future. Since that recovery, development has continued at a strong pace. Major updates have shipped at roughly 2–3 month intervals: Update 0.6.6 (August 19, 2025) added Creative Mode and Block Crafting, Update 0.7 (February 25, 2026) introduced the second planet Phaeton, and Update 0.8 (April 29, 2026) introduced a third planet — Tyr, a water world requiring seafaring vehicles. Feature patches in late 2025 brought resource harvesting progression, flight model overhauls, and substantial quality-of-life improvements. Most recently, on July 16, 2026, the developer published a preview post showing new weapon blocks, tank track blocks, and booster blocks explicitly described as "coming in the next update." This confirms the development team is actively working on additional content and is not yet ready to release it. The game is clearly still working toward its eventual 1.0 launch, with new content in the pipeline.
