Evaluation

The Divine Speaker launched on March 29, 2022 as a complete story-rich BL visual novel. Two and a Half Studios subsequently delivered full voice acting in stages through October 13, 2022, released art collection DLCs, and in June 2023 launched a standalone prequel game, The Sun and the Moon. In September 2023, they publicly released A Bounty Hunter's First Christmas — a Leos-centric afterstory that had previously been a Patreon exclusive — and crucially stated: "In the future, we plan that most of our exclusive DLCs will come to Steam after a one year period." This indicated that further Patreon-exclusive afterstories were expected to follow the same path to Steam. However, that September 2023 announcement was the last Steam post directly about The Divine Speaker. The October 7, 2023 post announced a demo for a different game (A Date with Death). Since then — now approaching three years — there have been no further updates, DLC listings, or developer statements about The Divine Speaker on Steam. No additional afterstories have appeared on the storefront despite the developer's stated one-year migration plan, which would have implied something arriving by late 2024 at the earliest. The developer's studio appears to remain active (their new game A Date with Death was being promoted in late 2023), but the intended pipeline of Patreon content migrating to Steam has not materialized publicly and has not been addressed in any developer communication since the original statement. With outstanding content intentions unconfirmed and no developer activity on this game since October 2023, the status of that promised pipeline is uncertain.
