Evaluation

The Gallery - Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone launched on October 18, 2017 as a complete, story-driven VR adventure game. Following launch, Cloudhead Games supported it with bug fixes and feature patches through late 2017 and into 2019, adding achievements, trading cards, Chinese localization, Windows Mixed Reality support, and Valve Index controller bindings. The only DLC released is the original soundtrack, which shipped on January 2, 2019. The last substantive developer communication was on June 26, 2019, when Valve Index support was announced — and that post itself was primarily a sale announcement with a controller binding update, not a content roadmap. The October 2018 post celebrating the VR Game of the Year award hinted at something "quietly cooking for the future of VR," but this was almost certainly a reference to Pistol Whip, which Cloudhead launched in November 2019 and prominently featured in their December 2019 holiday bundle post alongside The Gallery. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content for Episode 2, and no post-launch pattern of major content expansions. The developer has moved on to other projects. The game shipped as a self-contained episode and has received no meaningful updates since mid-2019.
Evidence
Cloudhead announced Pistol Whip (November 2019), a new game outside The Gallery series, bundled with The Gallery episodes in a holiday sale. No new content announced for Episode 2.
