The Glade

The Glade is a free-to-play Early Access open-world survival game developed solo by Michael Schade. It launched on November 15, 2021 and received frequent updates through its early months — shipping new islands, bosses, crafting systems, and story content at a rapid pace between November 2021 and February 23, 2022. In a November 2021 post, the developer explicitly acknowledged being a solo developer with other life commitments but expressed commitment to finishing the game. The last developer communication of any kind was on February 23, 2022, when a major content update added a new boss and the beginning of story implementation. Since that date — now more than four years ago as of June 2026 — there have been no patches, announcements, devlogs, or any other posts from the developer. The game remains in Early Access with no announced path to a 1.0 release. The story content was in a very early state as of the last update ("start of story implementation"), meaning the game was explicitly unfinished at the time communication ceased. With over four years of silence and no indication of whether development is ongoing, it is unclear whether this project is still being actively worked on.
